Report Methodology

Zapier conducted two surveys to gather data on automation usage and workflow automation tools. The first survey involved 2,000 knowledge workers from businesses with less than 250 employees, with 178 respondents identifying as marketers. The second survey included 1,500 knowledge workers from small-to-medium-sized businesses across various fields, with 250 respondents being marketers. Both surveys had random, voluntary, and anonymous responses. Additionally, Zapier created a quiz on task automation, which was taken by 622 marketers between September 2021 and early August 2022.

Why it Matters

Marketers primarily automate time-intensive tasks such as messaging leads, sharing information with their teams, and copying data. This statistic emphasizes the focus on automating repetitive and critical processes, enabling marketers to save significant amounts of time and improve overall efficiency. By automating these tasks, marketers can allocate their resources more effectively and concentrate on higher-value activities.
